The relationship should be reciprocal in nature as far as I'm concerned.

If they want to restrict our imports, we should do the same to Chinese goods and products. If they want to play the hostage diplomacy game, we should cut ties and abrogate that ridiculous trade agreement Harper signed. I also think we should expand our ties to Taiwan, and if Taiwan requests it, formally recognize them as an independent country.

It's time for the gloves to come off and for us Canucks to start throwing punches back, instead of the turtling we've been doing for the past decade.

"New" strategy indicates we actually had a previous one. And the old strategy consisted of us sending them endless jobs & industries in exchange for giving them the opportunity to sell junky & dangerous crap made by slaves back to us for wonderfully low prices back to the former working-class people who used to make those products here in our own country. It's all part of the magnificence of the natural & free capitalistic life cycle!
