Yer right, they stick up for ALL criminals. RR's post only shows this one example. Pretty much any amendent or addition to the criminal code involving minimum sentences, the Blocheads have voted against.

Except white collar criminals because recently some Quebec Boobs got fleeced by a con man. That got some air time and got the Quebec public upset so that prompted the Bloc to act but once that dies down it's back to ignoring the problem.

The Bloc states in the article why they didn't support the minimum sentance.. to say that they "support" child trafficing is ludacris. They just think the judges should be able to use their own judgement. That's a real low blow.

No doubt it's a sad situation. You aren't going to convince me that the Bloc supports child trafficing with this though.

On another note..
"We learned about the “judicial mafia”, a secret group of select judges who control the agenda in the court system and fix cases for the benefit of their friends and colleagues."

"In our opinion, Justice Taylor and the remaining six dead judges were part of the "judicial mafia", a term used by an RCMP inspector to describe the group of judges who fix cases in Canada."

I'm not suggesting that all Quebec judges are child trafficers or anything of the sort.

I definately will say that judges judge, they don't make laws. Parliament and the people make laws. Since this is one of the very few occasions where all other parties are in agreement, we can say that this is what Canadians wanted.

I think they should have toned it down a bit on the accusations though. It's was a very poor choice to not support the bill but those adds are, in my opinion, a bit exagerated.

Ridenrain’s world is black and white. No rational need be applied.

When the bill comes up for a vote, it's either a yay or nay. If they don't agree with a component of the bill even if they support the principle of it, Harper certainly didn't negotiate in advance so the only alternative is to vote it down. There’s that little problem of reaching out that keeps coming to bite him in the ass.

I support the bill. I don't support the reaction to it failing.
