Wow, even Liberal apologist Don Martin has turned on Iggy.

Good riddance. The man has proven himself as much a tool as previous Liberal leaders.

Quite a shame considering his potential. I had high hopes for Iggy. :(

The Liberals (And Canada) need a fresh face in politics.

Not Goodale, not Trudeau, someone with a fresh face, no ties and that relates to people on a down to Earth level.

It's not just the liberals, it's every party. They are all hermits.

Do keep in mind that the Liberal membership didn't pick Ignatieff. By process of election, like it or not, their choice was Dion. The party insiders appointed him leader later, after Dion stepped aside.

I'm personally pretty happy with my leader. :D

I'm content with the status-quo. Just wish he had more nuts when it came to sticking to his promises. His saving grace is that no other party leader besides those of the the Bloc *pukes* or the Greens *pukes* would keep their promises.

They don't understand that. With the passing of Martin there had to be a gutting of the party. But they tried The Academic - an old face. The American may look new but he can't cut it. Next it will be The Defrocked Socialist. That won't work either. As sure as shit after that they will go for Son of Superman.

Yeah, you're probably right, but most Canadians remember the father and what he did to this country. So they won't make that mistake again.

I think we're not doing too bad. Harper and Ignatieff may have the personalities of wet dishrags, but they're both smart as a whip. I'll take substance over style any day.

I have a couple of whips, they are not too smart, just hang about all day in a cupboard. They do though have a modicum of style.

I would like to see the strength of a Maggie Thatcher as PM.

Canadians my age and those younger than me would be too young to remember him, and by the time we came to understand the political landscape as it is today, the effects of his legacy are so imbued in every party that the name Tredeua doesn't really strike fear into our hearts. When I first learned about his son being into politics, I thought it was cool that his dad was PM, would be fitting for him to be PM someday too (I thought the same of GWB becoming president...).

Now, knowing the mess his father left, I don't want him anywhere near a political office. But that took years of indulgence and enlightenment the average Canadian wouldn't bother to research.
