Doesn't help Ignatieff's image at all. He is getting a reputation for reversing himsellf (Iraq, torture, taxes) and now this. It's only a few days ago he said there would be no Quebec lieutenant. It won't be long before the Tories start calling him Mr Dithers, Part II.
The Libs need a credible leader, elected after a proper leadership convention, a platform that the public at least can gnaw on, and a lot of new blood.

I think now would be a great time for an election, too bad the NDP went along with the Consevatives.
Iffy should just resign and save the party before it is too late.

Iffy should just resign and save the party before it is too late. If you're a Conservative, why would you want Iggy to resign? He's been going down like Monika Lewinski over the past 4 weeks. Isn't that what you want? This is a Conservative's wet dream, the way the polls have been reversing.

The picture from the story looks like he and his wife were photoshopped into it.

I actually thought he might be a threat to the Conservatives when he first appeared on the scene but since taking over as the leader of the party he seems to be following the Dion plan, and that is good news for the Conservatives.

I know 2Cdo, this is a disaster for the Libs. Only the most stubborn partisans will be saying otherwise.

They have to get over this quixotic idea of an election and see if Ignatieff is salvageable as a leader. He's bright and can be witty but has to sound less condescending and come across as if he is talking to the people, not down to them. The earliest he would be ready for an election is next Spring. $1: A new Strategic Counsel survey, conducted Oct. 2-4 for CTV and the Globe and Mail, found that Tory support has surged to 41 per cent nationally, up six percentage points from September. The Conservatives now have a 13 percentage point lead over the Liberals, who have now seen their national support diminish to just 28 per cent. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/s ... pStoriesV2

Yea, by the time an election comes the Tories will have done something silly and we won't get a majority. I'm enjoying these good times but we have been here before, and it was squandered.
