Yep, you have politicians, pretty much a guarantee that their ethics are skewed, appointing a lawyer to a position of power... ...and somehow people think this isn't a fox loose in the hen house no matter how you look at it? Boil it down, a crook appoints a crook to pass judgement on crooks...

Exactly, and many politicians were lawyers too.
I'd be supprised if you could find 5 lawyers who didn't have political ties to any party.

Canada needs to adopt an American style system where judges and senators are elected
