Yes Derby you are right I am biased against the Libs, being from Alberta, but it doesnt mean I think they are completely useless. It also makes it easy to attack them because they are making some pretty bold statements or are they just waiting to drop the writ before they layout their plans?
The problem is that Harper has been saying this for months now that he won't need to raise taxes to erase the deficit and it seems that you are exceedingly harsher on Iggy for what Harper has been touting all along.
I've already seen the bulk of cons dismiss it when Harper backtracks on his promises or down right mitigate them (income trusts, floor crossers, senate appointments, deficits) so why should any Liberal hold their guys to a higher standard?
I don't believe Iggy can deliver anymore then Harper could deliver but I understand completely why he is saying he would. He was jumped on for simply making the very reasonable statement that he wouldn't rule out a tax increase.
We all get the governments we deserve and if the electorate will simply not vote in a politician who is willing to say we might need a tax hike or spending cut.
Did you happen to catch the reason Iggy said it? Quebec demanded a clarification over provincial transfers because they were worried about their money. QC pandering was another promise Harper went back on.
