Well, my brother who is gay and has faced extreme discrimination and personal attack in Montréal that he had to be hospitalized, is organizing the gay, lesbian and transgendered people to rally and vote anything but tory.. there are he says, 1/4 million in Canada alone. He has spent the summer traveling from BC to Nfld. The problem with harper is, as I have said once or twice, is that he is a threat to civil rights and freedoms.. in my opinion an autocrat, demagogue, bigot!

The same could be said for any political party MC
Except for the Christian League, those nut balls would definitely try to minimize homosexual right.

Personally who gives two shits what they elect that eccentric, arrogant, architect of Canada's demise too.

Sexuality has nothing to do with it, they just needed a famous or in most cases infamous poster boy to put forward for their new "Queer Hall of Fame".

kenmore kenmore:

What I am against is the political right wing who try to stifle those who support civil rights and the average working class person. We all know that the right wingers think its their way or the highway! We all know their slimey tactics.
I don't try to silence any gay, bi, or transgendered person, no matter their political stripe. I do however find it hard to believe that a gay person would be a tory supporter. Support a party that is anti-gay ( and its a fact) and that given the numbers in the house of commons would revoke the same sex marriage law and roll back many of the civil rights gained over the past 40 yrs.. thats all

Maybe you have conservatives confused with hardcore right wingers?

I think Liberals try to hang on to the hidden agenda/anti gay nonsense because they are running out of boogeyman ideas for Harper.

Conservatives aren't necessarioy anti-gay, but have more of a tendency to be so. It's primarily because religous folks tend to be conservatives (because the bible is, in our culture, basically the definition of sicial conservatism). And the bible explicity calls on its readers to kill male homosexuals. Most church-going folks still see homosexuality as a sin.

He took some flak for it too. He was like Trudeau though--the state has no place in the bedrooms of the nation.
