Much more detailed article. AS usual, there's more to the story than meets the eye, but it does look like NAFO will "help manage" fisheries within Canada's 200-mile limit if ratification of 2007 amendments to a NAFO convention are passed (by Cabinet, not Parliament).

Fisheries management shouldn't have anything to do with the navy IMO.

I agree, but we have used navy ships to interdict those fishing illegally (Turbot War ring a bell), as well as put DFO and RCMP officers on coast Guard vessels patrolling the Grand Banks.

And the CBC join the campaign, along with 'former' DFO members on the ABC mantra.

Get used to it. Our national broadcaster cements it's famous left wing bias with a few ex DFO guys.

Now ask yourself, why are they 'former' DFO guys? Maybe some bad blood in there because they are former?

And nice to see that the CBC ensures another banner headline has no investigation past it's 'sources'.

Please CBC, do try and just report the facts instead of this partisan slant that we are all so used to and tired of.
