Early reviews have been generally poor, calling it "a misguided mess" but most have praised Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman yet again.
However, a major storm erupted on social media after Melissa Silverstein posted two pictures comparing heavily armoured Amazon costumes from Patti Jenkin's Wonder Woman movie and much more skimpy ones from Zack Snyder's Justice League."

Here is a fantastic example of the difference between the male and female gaze.
Patty Jenkins' Amazon warriors on the left. Zack Snyder's on the right.
Furthermore, the costume designer for Wonder Woman was Lindy Hemming, while it was Michael Wilkinson for Justice League. The argument goes that the male-designed costumes are much more sexualised.
One social media commentator criticised a scene from the upcoming movie: "Okay fine, let's just settle this - it's not about JUST what the Amazons are wearing, it's also about The Flash landing face first into Wonder Woman's cleavage for laughs."
Another blasted: "Look, my expectations of Justice League werent high going in, but still... However, if you dig gratuitous upskirt shots of Wonder Woman and more cheese than a dairy farm then youll love it."
The internet has erupted in debate with many of the comments split along gender lines and some male commentators arguing that Amazons also wore midriff-baring outfits in the Wonder Woman movie, in training sequences.
Fans have also been quick to point out that Henry Cavill has been shirtless in both his outings as Superman while promo shots of Aquaman focus on his impressive naked torso.
However, it still appears that the main training sequence in Wonder Woman depicts the Amazons in sturdy leather and armour, as do the battle scenes.
The shots of the Amazons riding into battle in Justice League appear to show bare midriffs and shouders and many more bra-like outfits.

What happened to their Feminism?
Lesbian workout junkies?
In fact isn't that one of the critiques against admiring washboard ab Amazons with bare midriffs? Supposedly it can be seen as fat shaming.
I know this is way out there but really its a movie. Why do we care?
I know that I don't give a damn.
OMG! Something is sexist?

Well shes not wrong. No need for her to overreact to it but shes not wrong. Im sure the added T&A was a conscious decision. The female Scythian warriors that inspired the Greek Amazon legends didnt dress in skimpy outfits.
It's not like the women were forced to wear those outfits... can't they just say no?
And be out of a job?
