Well...In Pakistan, apart from my community whose mother tongue is Urdu.....every nation/ethnicity speaks two languages; Urdu and their own mother tongues, like Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi, Hindko, Pashto.
Most of the Pakistanis are bilingual at least
