Not to take anything away from the article, BUT, Bart have you heard the stat the in the last 5 presidential elections, the candidate with actual military experience has lost?
?
The last five Presidential elections had the following results:
2008 - Obama
2004 - G.W. Bush - National Guard vet
2000 - G.W. Bush - National Guard vet
1996 - Clinton - draft dodger
1992 - Clinton - draft dodger
Bush would count as having military experience since he was active duty ANG.

I chose the right time to join.
And the young people believe in what this country and the military stand for, aprtially because of A-stan. In my highschool grad class of 120 students, 5 have either joined, or are already in the reserves, and I know of a 6th who is trying to join currently.
5% of the pop. isn't bad. accounting for Canada's pop. we woul have 1.5 million troops if we held that same ratio.
Military just needs to be promoted more in area's where there isn't a military base, particularily Big cities like Vancouver, Toronto, etc.
why?
School.
