MEXICO CITY � Apolinario Chile Pixtun is tired of being bombarded with frantic questions about the Mayan calendar supposedly "running out" on Dec. 21, 2012. After all, it's not the end of the world......Or is it?

    I saw a couple Mayans yesterday. Why they still cling to that blasted calendar while driving is beyond me! Just because a civilization ended in the 1500s doesn't mean all the people disappeared without having children. Really, where did you study history? Even Hitler missed a few of my relatives. And he had transportation engineers begging for more work. Columbus and his contemporaries had disease on their side, but no transportation engineers. Perhaps, the Mayans should talk to the new Germans--the Japanese.

    Really? The Mayans are an extinct culture so I doubt you 'saw' a couple of them just recently. Oh, the Japanese again..the new Germans... What did the Japanese do to you recently?
