Dalai Lama: China aims to annihilate Buddhism

DHARMSALA, India ï¿½ The Dalai Lama lashed out at China on Wednesday, accusing it of trying to "annihilate Buddhism" in Tibet and rebuffing all his efforts to reach a compromise over the disputed Himalayan region.

This isn't suprising. Totalalitarian nations always want to supress and destroy any belief system that runs contrary to their aims.

The "problem" with destroying religion is that the harder the state cracks down on religion the more underground and deeper it becomes. Lenein once sai said religion in like a nail: The harder you hit the deeper it does in.
