Canadian navy vessels off the coast of British Columbia took control of a cargo ship carrying 490 Tamil migrants, including "suspected human smugglers and terrorists," says Public Safety Minister Vic Toews.

    Great 490 more people we are now on the hook to house and feed while they go threw the useless process of being screened. While every laywer looking for money and every bleeding heart want to waste taxpayers money will go running this ship claiming that Canada has some sort of responiblity to give these people who were attempting to illegally enter Canada after their terrorist army was beaten, a home and money.

    That ship was supposed to head for Australia, but abruptly changed course and sailed to Canada.


    Cause they knew the Aussies would say no thanks,

    aren't a bunch of stupid pussies, we have a gov't that's gone off it's rocker. They just LANDED people they claim to be terrorists and smugglers so we're obligated now! And they're telling us that's justice!

    I think the Sri Lankan govt is willing to cooperate on this one so each should go through a very strict background check

    BUT

    Last October, the Ocean Lady brought 76 Tamil migrants to Canada from Sri Lanka. One passenger on the Ocean Lady told The Canadian Press that he took the risk to come to Canada to flee threats against his life after the end of Sri Lanka's long and bloody civil war. He agreed to pay $45,000 for the chance to leave.


    WTF ! With that kind of money you CAN easily go to a neighbouring country for eg:- UAE and apply for Legal Canadian immigration from there. If I had that kind of money I would be in Canada Legally right now. The reports say the ship was in Thailand earlier why didn't they get off there. There is a sizeable south asian and srilankan community there !

    So I say thats bullshit and highly unfair to prospective legal immigrants and ones who've already landed. Smell's more like a human traffic operation to mean with people paying shit load of money which is propablly going the wrong hands to land there.

    He doesnt have the money, he didnt pay it.


    He will 'earn' it by turning over some welfare money,
    and doing various things inside Canada to pay for it.

    Which I'm sure the Tigers will invest in quiet farmland for them.

    If they're refugees, why aren't they fleeing to Naidu, India, right across the water? That's where they originally came from, probably still have relatives there.

    because there they wont get as big of a welfare check and expect nothing in return. here they can exploit us and if anyone tries to open their mouths they can cry racist and everyone will shut up. thats why they came here plain and simple
