The federal government will announce Friday that Sept. 11 will become a "national day of service" to inspire Canadians to show the kind of compassion and generosity that were in abundance following the attacks of 10 years ago.
When I first read the title I thought it meant I'd have to start working on Sundays... But really, we already demonstrated once that we're willing to do this, do we really need to remind ourselves to stay this way now?
"BartSimpson" said We don't neeed a special day to remind us of who we are.
I agree. But some of your immigrants may benefit from an opportunity to see that being a Canadian means more than free healthcare and a subsidy.
That hardly can be focused on immigrants, Bart. That's offside and you should know it.
I'd submit that as many people born here or more are as capable of that selfish self-entitlement bullshit is those who showed up wanting to move in. Certainly, on my last ship, we averaged about 25% immigrant as part of the crew and almost all of them joined to give something back to the country that took them.
Quite inserting your sneaky bigoted musings into the thread, or at least just come out and say brown = bad.
"to inspire Canadians to show the kind of compassion and generosity that were in abundance following the attacks of 10 years ago."
We did what we did because of who we are. We don't neeed a special day to remind us of who we are.
(You're welcome Tiger)
Dumbest thing I ever heard.
