A revised version of David Bowie's Space Oddity, recorded by Commander Chris Hadfield on board the International Space Station. With thanks to Emm Gryner, Jo...
"Lemmy" said I bet Hadfield's shitting his pants right now on the descent back to earth. Yeah, that was a wicked performance.
3 hours to TD.
Interesting fact - the Souyz capsule is mostly automated, but because Hadfield is a test pilot and speaks Russian, he can manually fly the capsule if he needs to.
He's got about 50 minutes left in the fall. Can you actually call it "flying"? More like a freefall. If it were me, I'd be screaming like a teenage girl on a roller-coaster the whole way down.
I've never seen an astronaught such as Hadfield get so much media time with his antics. I think he should of spent more time workin instead of fuckn' around, like testing a new zero gravity plumbin system, feedin plants etc.
I can see his performance review "spent way too much time chatn' with earth"
I like my astronaughts boring and clinical, no hipsters.

Wow, you think he's a hipster.
Frankly, making space sexy is how NASA got through it's heyday in the 60s. Rock star astronauts that the public loved. Boring scientists means people are bored with science and uninterested. Might as well pack up and go home with that level of support...or better yet, see if we can catch rides with the Chinese.

Disagree. Anything that makes science and learning seem cool to children is to be embraced.

Don't be thick.
Hadfield has done wonders for NASA and science in general with his work on the ISS. How many people would care about the ISS if not for his amazing photos and videos.

By his "antics" he may have encouraged some youngsters to include sciences in their future.
