I wouldn't have a problem breaking into a car if I came across a situation like this with a child or even an animal being left inside because I could live with being charged rather than doing nothing and I think anyone else would have the same attitude because it's not about trying to be a hero it's about common sense. You could call the police and emergency services but the time it would take them to respond could be to late.
